Queen of soul food. They snap to attention. My name is Sylvia, but some folks call me the Queen of Soul Food. I've been serving down home Southern cooking in my Harlem Restaurant for so long it's become a New York City landmark. As a little girl in South Carolina, I learned about soulful, home cooking from my Mom. After a hard day's work in the field picking beans, nothing tasted as fine as her warm, flavorful cooking. She had lots of ways to cook peas and beans and they were always delicious. I'm sure you'll find my recipes for seasoned peas and beans just as satisfying.
